General conference was super great! I got to watch half in Spanish and half in English because we watched it with a few of our investigadores. We prayed to get them there to listen to the prophet and then when Elder Bednar talked directly to them, it made my day. We told them they could find their answers in general conference. I really loved all of the talks and when the members of the 70 spoke in their language of Spanish, we were all very content here.
Guadalajara was good, it was long and we got trapped there because some of the roads leading home were closed. All in all, we weren’t able to work too much in our area this week but yesterday something super great happened…We are teaching a man, whose wife is a recent convert. They were going to be baptized the same day but he wasn’t able to because of problems with the word of wisdom. Yesterday we went with a message about repentance and how they can both be sealed in the temple for all time and eternity. We know he needs to change and wants to do it for his family. So we invited him to be baptized again and he said yes but wouldn’t agree on a date a few weeks in the future because he said he needs to prepare and learn more. We were then able to read in Moroni 6: 1-3 and ask him if he really had desires to follow Christ with a broken heart and contrite spirit. His attitude completely changed and he said yes and he made specific goals for himself in order to make these needed changes. The spirit was so strong and I can bear testimony that through Christ anything is possible.
Another highlight of the week, I got 2 packages from home! Thank you mom and dad! Also I was able to speak in another zone conference and was a little less nervous this time. Last weekend we had a baptism for a sister that the hermanas before us found. She is super great and strong, the only member of her family. She loves the Book of Mormon and she really does have a family at church.
I just found out that my college roommate, Diana Chudleigh, is going to be serving a mission in New Zealand. I’m so happy for her!!
